Clean Up!

Worthy Fam! Coach Murray here.

Am I the only one who cleans before the cleaners come, attempted to get my food and/or fitness in check before joining the gym, or felt like I had to get "right" before accepting Christ into my life? WHY?? For me, I think it's hard to show others what a mess I am or I have feelings of shame.  I still clean before the cleaners, and was forced to join the gym when I married Mark ;), but I had to just jump right in when it came to my faith!

By choosing to be a part of the Worthy family, we know that if we show up we will be accepted, challenged, encouraged, educated, and held accountable. That doesn't mean that we won't experience setbacks, have bad days, click with every other gym goer we meet... BUT we will be in community with others that are seeking the same overall goal in a loving, positive, and encouraging environment.

AND it's the same with faith.  Until I truly made the choice for myself, I thought I had to "clean up" first.  I was failing miserably AND THEN THE WORDS HIT HOME.  Every verse, every lyric, every promise became personally mine. If you're not a believer or have stepped away from your faith because of a hurt or hangup - WHAT CAN YOU DO? Talk to me, Mark, Syl, Michelle, Mary, Yvette or a friend that knows Jesus! Or in the privacy of your car, home, shower, etc.. do the ABC.

  • A—Admit that I am a sinner (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).

  • B—Believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died for me, and that His death can save my soul (John 3:16, Romans 5:8-10).

  • C—Confess that He is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-13).

We love you and we're all in this together!

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8-10 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies,we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life

Romans 10:9-13 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
