Energy is Contageous

How are you feeling today? Take a look at yourself. Are you exerting positive or negative energy? Believe it or not, whatever you are thinking and feeling influences others. Are you smiling at others? Are you being kind and encouraging? Or are you the one complaining? Do you express anger, or have a depressing attitude about yourself or others? Where we put our mind is up to us!  Being positive or negative is not just about you. It’s also about everyone around you. That is why it is so important to choose a positive attitude!

While we can’t control everything that happens in life, we can control our attitude. If you want to be happy, start with your attitude. While it won’t change everything in your life, it certainly is a good start and helps your mental state. We can choose how we respond to the challenges we face.  Now, I know we all have a bad day now and then and should show ourselves (and others) grace. What I’m referring to is the energy that you exert on most days.

Sometimes we need to dig really deep to be optimistic, especially when we are in the center of a storm. We must try to focus on what is good and practice gratitude. Don’t let the negative thoughts tell you that you have no control over the energy you project to the world. Take that thought and give it to God and declare it to be a lie! Replace that thought with a bright and cheerful one. Pray. Practice deep breathing. Meditate. Call a friend. Listen to music. Fake it until you make it. Do whatever it takes to turn that thought around and lift yourself up. You will be happier for it, and the people around you will be too!

Much Love,

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Philippians 4:6-8 NLT

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

 Proverbs 17:22 NLT

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit.  I Thessalonians 5:16-19 NIV
